Jasmine has researched a Kenmore washer- $799.99 for the large capacity. Cost for installation is unknown but the total cost will come out of the large fund so we would like to tell Jasmine to go ahead with it.
Genevieve’s Fundraiser info for the fall has arrived- this year’s fundraising was relatively successful with this company so we will be sticking with them for Fall 2010. Amy will be in touch with Dave Taylor to set the dates and will let Kristen know soon.
Campbell Soup Labels collection sheets will be going home in this week’s Rainbow. We are hoping to purchase a digital camera and currently have enough labels for one. If we can get 2500 more labels we would be able to purchase a 12 mgpxl Camera which is a higher quality camera than the one we currently could receive. We participated in Fire Safety and Student Council is running a food drive which will automatically get us a total of 1,000 labels automatically. Labels for Ed will match up to 2,500 if collected by December 30th.
Class to bring in the most will win a “surprise” depending on the class and particular needs and/or likes of that class.
John Gilmor was contacted but his original price for Artist in Residence was far too high at $500 per day. Dawn called him and he is willing to come for 4 days + a concert for half the price under the condition that we fill out a grant to the Vermont Arts Council. Whether or not the grant is received will not affect his shows. The grant needs to be submitted before Christmas and is relatively detailed so we are going to divide the parts and do it together. Wendy and Stacie are going to work on obtaining letters of support from various artists. He will see every class at least twice during the week and will work on a song with each class. This will be performed for family and friends at the evening concert. We will set up a sign up sheet for classroom teachers to pick their times. With classroom sizes being smaller we may even be able to have him meet more than twice. He is booked for the week of Dr. Seuss week.
Question about the dance still being on hold or if we can start to move forward with the planning process. Maureen will talk to Kristen about this and we support her decision either way.
Snowshoeing- we are looking to January or February for the event and according to the Farmer’s Almanac toward the end of January will be better conditions. We will shoot for the evening of the 29th of Jan (Friday) from 6:30-8:00 as that will be a fullish moon and, February the 27th (Saturday) around 10:00 with hot coco and muffins etc. We would be cleaned up and out no later than 12:30. Wendy will talk to Tammy about the dates and fill out the building use forms if everything is okay.
PTO will make a basket for the 6th grade basket raffle on Dec. 12th.
Eleanor Tison and Marsha Baker have COMPLETELY reorganized the attic space where PTO holds all of our “goods”. We just need to bring in some old sheets to cover the apparel and they will make labels for the shelves. We have tiny sizes left in sweatshirts and may look into giving to incoming Kindergartners next fall. We are again selling fleece scarves and blue and gold beads. Amy will send thank you notes to Marsha and Eleanor for all they have done.
We are going to send out an invitation to all for the January 21st meeting. We intend on having treats and beverages and there will be an RSVP portion so we can plan accordingly.
When will the all school movie be? We are happy to do popcorn but do need to order more and will do that sooner rather than later if need be. We will pop it ahead of time as we did last year which seemed to be much more convenient.
