Anti-Bullying Week

October is Bullying Prevention Month!  My hope is to bring awareness to this subject by starting with our morning announcements

and each day having a tip of the day in regards to bullying.  I also encourage all teachers to

incorporate bullying prevention into their daily lesson plans.  I have bullying prevention activities, games, and resources that

I hope to use myself or provide for teachers this month and anytime throughout the school year.

One excellent resource is the website, StopBullying.gov,

which provides information from various government agencies on how kids, teens, young adults, parents, educators and others in the community

can prevent or stop bullying.

Another way of addressing bullying will be through our school wide assembly put on by TIGER again this school year!

More details to follow!

Pennies For Patients

Pennies for Patients will continue to run until February 11th.  Thanks for all the donations so far!!  Attached to this newsletter is a copy of a paper penny that will be sold for a $1 donation and students will be able to write their name and hang the paper penny on our “penny wall” at school.  So if you choose to do so, just send in $1 with the paper penny filled out with your child’s name and then I will hang it up!

Ten Ways to Help:

6.       Spread the word about what you are doing to fight cancer

7.       Do odd jobs to earn money to donate

8.       Talk about the program at school and get your classmates excited

9.       Ask your parents or teacher if you have questions about cancer

10.    Be proud of yourself for making a difference
